As a result of the continued growth and development over the last eight years, Akoustis has expanded its international reach and opened a new office in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The Company has hired a talented team to lead Sales, Customer Service, and Applications Engineering focused on growing revenue in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) Region.
Taiwan is well positioned for the semiconductor industry with large investments in manufacturers and talents in the area. This new location will allow Akoustis to better engage with these customers, expand the Company’s presence, and strengthen partnerships in the area, along with many other motivating factors:
- Using Taiwan as a base for the Asia-Pacific region strategically places the Company to serve nearby first-line ODM customers and further pursue business opportunities in Japan, South Korea, and China.
- Akoustis is investing in this office space to directly engage key APAC customers in the Company’s target markets; 5G mobile and infrastructure, Wi-Fi access points, automotive, and IoT/ industrial applications.
- Having a Field Application Lab available in Taiwan will allow the Company to provide just-in-time technical support and work closely with APAC customers to secure design wins.
