Kamran Cheema is Chief Product Officer (CPO) and brings over 25 years of experience in acoustic technology. Kamran is responsible for the device engineering and product design teams as well as testing, characterization, and mechanical design of all Akoustis products. Before joining Akoustis, Kamran was the Vice President Engineering at Qualcomm RF360, where he managed all aspects of micro-acoustic hardware solutions for the mobile phone market. Prior to Qualcomm, Cheema held positions at TDK, Vice President of Engineering and Site Manager, where he reported directly to the CEO. At TDK, he led a team of professionals, including filter module and switch designers, SAW and BAW filter designers, and laminate and LTCC specialists. Earlier, Cheema worked at TriQuint Semiconductor, now part of Qorvo, as a Director of Engineering, where he oversaw the development of acoustic duplexers, the RF module team, GaAs pHEMT and SOI switch development. Kamran Cheema holds a MSEE from the University of Central Florida.
Ken joined Akoustis on December 19, 2017 as Corporate Controller and became Assistant Secretary in February 2018. He has been responsible for helping build and manage the Company’s finance organization, implementing the Company’s SEC financial reporting, and developing all internal controls and processes. Ken’s past work experience includes; Regional Controller and Corporate Director of Accounting for Ecolab, Inc. from 2012 to 2017. Prior to his employment at Ecolab, Mr. Boller served as Finance Director for ATI Allvac from 2007 to 2011. From 1998 to 2007 Mr. Boller held various roles within finance, including Director of Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis at American Water Works Company, Inc. Ken is a Certified Public Accountant (Commonwealth of PA) with his BS in Accounting from Rutgers University, Camden NJ.
Colin Hunt, the Vice President of Sales and Business Development, is responsible for leading the sales and marketing efforts of the company. Colin Hunt brings over 25 years of experience in sales management and business development in the RF and electronics industry. Prior to joining, Colin was Vice President of Worldwide sales for pSemi, the semi-conductor division of MuRata. Responsible for all markets outside of mobile, he led the global sales network promoting and growing sales to the market leading companies in the Wireless Infrastructure, Wireless Broadband, Defence, Test & Measurement sectors. Colin also gained experience in various sales and business positions for both semi-conductors and passive components companies. He held sales and business development management positions for the European and UK sales team at RFMD (now Qorvo); NDK and Murata. Colin holds an HNC in avionics, gained in the Royal Air Force (United Kingdom), where he specialized on air radar; RF communications and flight systems on helicopter aircraft.
